Aaron Woodfork (abt 1822 - aft March 19, 1880) served as an under cook in Company A, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry. He is one of twenty-three black men known to have served with the regiment, all of whom served as company cooks.

Aaron Woodfork was born about 1822 in Massachusetts.
Civil War service[]
Woodfork enlisted in Company A on February 14, 1864 in Burkesville, Kentucky for a period of three years. He mustered in on April 16, 1864 in Nashville.
At enlistment he was 42 years old, black complexion, black eyes, and black hair.[1] Woodfork's residence is given as Overton County, Tennessee where his occupation was farmer near Livingston.
According to the muster rolls Woodfork was present every month throughout his service. He mustered out with the regiment on September 5, 1865 at Knoxville. Records state that he was last paid to August 31, 1864 and owed $21.29 to the government for his clothing.
Later life[]
Woodfork filed for an invalid's pension on March 19, 1880. The location of his grave has been found.
