Amos Jones (August 6, 1846 - June 9, 1864) served as a private in Company C, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry.

Amos Jones was born August 6, 1846 in Washington County, Tennessee to John Wesley and Keziah (Perkins) Jones.
Civil War service[]
Jones enlisted as a private in Company C on September 24, 1863 in Carter County, Tennessee for a period of three years and mustered in October 28, 1863 at Strawberry Plains, Tennessee.
He is described as 18 years old, 5' 10" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer.
Jones is listed as present for duty until his death on June 9, 1864 in Gallatin, Tennessee. No records of his cause of death other than "disease" or personal effects have been located. When the regiment mustered out on September 5, 1865 at Knoxville it was noted that he had last been paid to August 31, 1864 and had been paid a $25 bounty.
Jones is buried at Nashville National Cemetery in Madison, Tennessee.
