Andrew Jackson Moore (March 17, 1828 - May 12, 1909) served as a private in Company K, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry.
Andrew Moore was born March 17, 1828 in Scott County, Tennessee to David and Isabel (Mitchell) Moore. He married Mary [last name unknown] (1823-1885) with whom he had at least nine children.
Moore enlisted as a private in Company K on September 22, 1863 in Louisville, Kentucky for a period of three years and mustered in May 31, 1864 at Gallatin, Tennessee.
He is described as 37 years old, 6' 1" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer.
Moore is listed as present for duty until December 7, 1863 when it is noted that he deserted. Moore returned to the regiment before March 1, 1864 and was restored to duty under President Lincoln's proclamation.
Moore mustered out with the regiment on September 5, 1865 at Knoxville. He had last been paid to August 31, 1864 and had been paid a $25 bounty.
Moore applied for an invalid's pension on August 3, 1889. He died May 12, 1909 in Woodbury, Tennessee and is buried at Preston Cemetery Number 2 in Cannon County, Tennessee.
