David Graybeal (February 27, 1847 - July 13, 1941) served as a private in Company E, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry.

Personal life
David Graybeal was born February 27, 1847 in Ashe County, North Carolina to Andrew and Rebecca (Lewis) Graybeal. He first married Mary Robinson (1845-1921) with whom he had at least six children. He married second Orlean Pennington (1854-1933); they had no children.
Civil War service
Graybeal enlisted in Company E on October 1, 1864 in Carter's Depot, Tennessee for a period of three years and mustered in October 28, 1864 at New Market, Tennessee.
He is described as 18 years old, 5' 7" tall, fair complexion, blue eyes, light hair, and by occupation a farmer.
Graybeal is listed as present for duty throughout his term of service.
Graybeal mustered out with the regiment on September 5, 1865 at Knoxville. He had never been paid, owed $15.89 to the government for clothing, and was owed a $100 bounty.
Post-war life
Graybeal applied for an invalid's pension on September 24, 1890. He died July 13, 1941 in Clifton Township, Ashe County, North Carolina and is buried at Brown Cemetery in Ashe County. At the time of his death, only one other member of the regiment is known to have been living.
