Jacob Eller (born abt. 1830) served as a private in Company D, 13th Tennessee Volunteer Cavalry.
Jacob Eller was born about 1830 in Ashe County, North Carolina.
Eller enlisted in Company D on October 1, 1864 in Knoxville, Tennessee for a period of three years and mustered in December 5, 1864 at Knoxville.
He is described as 34 years old, 5' 10" tall, dark complexion, black eyes, black hair, and by occupation a farmer.
Eller deserted twice. He first deserted on October 20, 1864 from camp near Bull's Gap, Tennessee. He returned to duty on November 10, 1864. Eller deserted again on December 20, 1864 from camp near Marion, Virginia and did not return to the regiment.
When the regiment mustered out on September 5, 1865 at Knoxville it was noted that he had never been paid and owed $17.50 to the government. Eller was dishonorably discharged.
Eller's date of death and grave have not been located.
